On July 18, 2025, I stepped onto the stage at the Chicago Pro, my debut as an IFBB Bikini Pro—and I walked away with a first-place win.
Yes, the win was thrilling.
Yes, the competition was fierce.
But this moment was about so much more than a trophy.
This win was the result of nearly two decades of discipline, reinvention, and personal growth—but more importantly, it was about showing up as the woman I’ve become:Focused.
Confident.
Grounded in both grace and grit.
Throughout my prep, I was guided by a coach who challenged me—not just physically, but mentally. He asked me a direct question:
“Kate, do you want to win?”
And for the first time in my life, I didn’t soften my answer.
I didn’t sidestep it with humility or deflection.
I said yes—clearly, boldly, and unapologetically.
From that moment, I trained with intention. I honored my plan. I fueled my body with discipline. I showed up with energy—not just for myself, but for every person watching who needed to know:
It’s not too late to become the strongest version of yourself.
Being surrounded by other Pros—athletes I deeply respect—only sharpened my focus. But I didn’t feel like an outsider. I felt prepared. I brought everything I had—not just muscle and posing—but presence, joy, and deep gratitude.
And what made this moment even more powerful?
My son John was in the audience.
To have him witness his mother perform with confidence, earn a victory, and radiate from the inside out… that was the most meaningful part of the entire weekend. It reminded me that this isn’t just about competition—it’s about legacy.
I don’t compete just for the stage.
I compete to inspire others who don’t yet believe in themselves.
To show people—especially women—that you can show up fully, stand tall in your truth, and claim your power.
So what’s next?
Not another competition—at least not right away.
This win marked the summit of this season, and now, I’m stepping into a purposeful off-season to:
Finish my next book, Peaceful Ambition
Travel and enjoy the richness of life beyond the gym
Continue refining my physique with intention and care
Live with joy, connection, and deep presence
Because confidence isn’t just about how you look—it’s about how you show up.
And I’ll continue showing up not just for myself—but for the people watching.
The ones who aren’t sure they can.
Who doubt if it’s too late.
Who haven’t yet said yes to themselves.
Let me remind you:
It’s possible. You are possible.
With fierce love and gratitude,
Kate McKay, IFBB Pro
